The Ruby Tuesday restaurant in Waynesboro, Virginia, was built in 2004 as a part of the retail wave
that came with the arrival of the Waynesboro Walmart SuperCenter.
It was located at 1941 Rosser Avenue, next door to the Rosser Avenue 7-Eleven convenience store.
The restaurant closed in May of 2020, during the time when the COVID-19 virus pandemic was spreading and many restaurants were closing. Ruby Tuesday's parent corporation later closed 212 of their 421 restaurants during a Chapter 11 bankruptcy, from which they emerged in February of 2021.
The Ruby Tuesday restaurant building was put up for sale at $2.3 million, and was sold on March 16, 2022, for $2.2 million to W4 PROPERTIES WAYNESBORO LLC.
On December 16, 2022, a permit was issued by the City of Waynesboro for a new car wash and vacuums at this address. The architect is MRP Design Group of Kennesaw, GA, and the contractor is Milestone Construction of Augusta, GA.
As of mid-August 2023, the lot where Ruby Tuesday was located has been cleared and underground utilities have been installed for the new Tidal Wave car wash. Site preparation continues and the construction of the car wash is expected to happen soon.
